Vergas man fined for burglaries [UPDATED]Published 5:34am Friday, July 22, 2011 Updated 7:37am Friday, July 22, 2011
A Vergas man will have to pay about $2,200 in restitution after committing a series of burglaries in 2010, including from his next-door neighbor.
James Robert Nord, 19, was convicted of two counts of third degree burglary. In addition to his restitution, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail, five years supervised probation and community service in lieu of a $1,500 fine.
Court records report that Nord’s string of burglaries started August 10, when he took machine shop tools from the Ottertail Bean Company on County Highway 80. Then, in September, he stole a chainsaw from his next-door neighbor. Another neighbor also reported some tools missing from his garage around the same time.Tags: burglary, Courts, vergas
