Former State Senator Dan Skogen announced this week that he will be seeking the DFL endorsement for the Minnesota Senate next spring. Skogen served four years in the state senate beginning in 2007, as the senator from District 10, which included all of Otter Tail and Wadena counties, and part of Becker County. While in the senate Skogen served on the Education, Agriculture, Veterans, Commerce, and Environment committees.

“I enjoyed my time in the Senate.” said Skogen, “especially the work on constituent issues.”

Skogen who works in Wadena as a radio sports broadcaster is looking forward to the challenges of the endorsement, the campaign and work in St. Paul.

“Public service is not easy work, but the process is important and I look forward to bringing my common sense approach of getting things done back to the senate for the people of this area,” Skogen said, “while moving Minnesota forward in critical areas of job creation, education, agriculture and the environment.”

He and his wife, Dee, live west of Hewitt on a hobby farm. Their adult sons live in North Carolina and California.

Is there an echo in here?!
P.S. Don’t try to tell the Journal they need proofreaders…they’ll vehemently deny it!!!

  2. Danny Dunlap

That great. We need someone who can work together to get thing done. The person in there
now only know the word “NO”.

It is important to know the political party you are used to voting for may have changed its position on many issues and may no longer be the party that represents your values or your future. Examine the candidates carefully and listen closely for statements that indicate whether they plan to move us forward or take us backward. Then choose the direction you wish to go and vote.
