A rural Pelican Rapids home received minor damage Monday after it was struck by lightning around 5:30 a.m.

The old-fashioned two-story farmhouse is located at 17247 400th Street. According to the Pelican Rapids Fire Department, lightning hit the home on the south end of the roof, charring some aluminum roof fixtures and causing some insulation to smolder.
