Homeowners scare off burglars

Published 11:05am Monday, August 15, 2011

Some burglars were scared away from a rural Pelican Rapids home on Saturday morning after the homeowners caught them burglarizing their garage.

The county sheriff’s office reported that some Fargo residents who are staying at a home on the 5100 block of Pelican Point Drive (on the north shore of Pelican Lake) were woken up around 4:30 a.m. and saw two or three men in their garage. The residents shouted at the men, who dropped a chainsaw they were stealing and ran from the property.

The men still got away with a circular saw. Currently, the sheriff’s office has no suspects, but anyone with possible information on the burglary is encouraged to call 998-8555.

Abortion/prohibition doesn’t work. Abortion was prohibited by law in the 70′s. It went underground and became a lucrative biz for anyone with a coat hanger. It caused more inhumanity than it prevented. The Volstead act prohibited alcohol in the USA. Criminals set up empires, and when it was repealed they became instant, legal business owners with all the infrastructure in place to operate on huge scales.
For every law prohibiting a commodity, there will be people creating an underground to provide it because all prohibition does is artificially inflate the price of something deemed illegal. Take away the profit margins and the biz won’t look so hot. Legalization allows a system of control to develop that works. The argument for legalization is everywhere on the internet. It takes time to look up the truths and ascertain the pros and cons, but it’s worth it if we ever intend to fix this world!
