Battery burglar scared away [UPDATED]

A burglar was scared off some property on Wall Lake Tuesday as he was trying to steal some car batteries, the sheriff’s office reported.

The office was alerted to the burglary around 12:45 p.m. The owner of property on 24468 North Wall Lake Dr. reported that he had visited a building on the property and came upon the burglar, who ran off. The burglar had taken several old car batteries, and he was in the process of trying to steal a spool of wire.

The case is under investigation.
