Three join LR Healthcare [UPDATED]

Three women were recently named to various positions at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.
Denise Laymon is the new development director for the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation.
She received her bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Mary, Bismarck, N.D., and is near completion of her masters degree in Strategic Leadership, which is also through the University of Mary.
Since 1999, she has served as the executive director of the Thief River Falls Education Foundation.
She also served as the executive director of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of North Dakota.
She will be responsible for foundation activities including development of the annual giving program, grant writing and special events.
“Denise brings a wealth of fundraising experience and expertise to our organization,” said Larry Schulz, President and CEO. “We look forward to seeing the Foundation grow as Denise brings leadership and consistency to the Foundation’s Annual Giving Campaign and other education and fundraising events,” Schulz said.
Denise, her husband and children reside in Warren and will be relocating to their lake property in Otter Tail County.
Katie Johnson will lead the marketing and communications department as vice president. The Battle Lake native received her bachelor of science Degree in broadcasting from Northwestern College in St. Paul. Most recently she has been the director of Business Development Services for Cronin Communications. Previously she was the business operations manager for Park RegionTelephone.
She also worked for KJJK Radio in Fergus Falls and interned at WCCO TV.
Johnson will be responsible for developing and executing the marketing and communications strategy at Lake Region Healthcare
She will also manage the marketing, public relations and Foundation staff for the organization.
“Katie’s experience and leadership will be a great asset to our team,” said Larry Schulz, President and CEO. “Filling this position is a key component of our strategy to strengthen and expand marketing and communications efforts. We will rely on Katie and her department to be leaders in promoting and articulating our core values of integrity, teamwork, compassion and excellence throughout the organization and the community.”
Katie, her husband, Mark, and two children live in rural Underwood.
Kathy Lehn was named public relations and customer service specialist for the organization.
Lehn will be responsible for developing a public relations program built on a base of strong customer service.
With a focus on patients, families and the community, Lehn will focus on communicating the organization’s commitment to providing services that enhance the health and well-being of the community and entire Lakes
“Kathy is a natural fit for this role,” said Larry Schulz, President and CEO. “Her history with Lake Region goes back to 1999, and her experience in different roles throughout the organization gives her a great background on which to build up our public relations efforts,” Schulz added.
She received an associate degree from M-State Fergus Falls and her bachelor of science degree in business management from the University of Mary, Bismarck, N.D.
She began her career as the activity department manager, and volunteer coordinator at Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids.
In 1999, she joined Lake Region Healthcare working in the admitting office.
She has been promoted several times and most recently served as executive secretary and interim foundation coordinator.
Kathy, her husband,Jim, and two children live in Fergus Falls.
