FF man unhurt in fatal crash [UPDATED]
Published 10:19am Monday, October 10, 2011 Updated 12:19pm Monday, October 10, 2011A Fergus Falls man was uninjured in an accident near Calumet that claimed the life of a Cohasset resident Friday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Charles Douglas, 54, of Fergus Falls, had parked his semitruck on the westbound shoulder of State Highway 169, near Calumet, around 4:30 a.m. While he was parked there, a 1996 GMC Sierra driven by Samuel Grossman, 55, of Cohasset, was traveling east on the road and drifted across the center line, striking the parked truck head on and totaling the Sierra.
Grossman was taken to Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, but he died of his injuries. Douglas was not hurt.
