Addition underway at elevator in Ashby

Ashby Farmers Elevator is constructing a building to house equipment and storage of feed and seed. The building, measuring 150 feet by 125 feet, is expected to be completed by Dec. 1.

Over the years the main emphasis at Ashby Coop Elevator has shifted from grain storage to feed sales. That was due, in part, to removal of the railroad tracks between Fergus Falls and Alexandria.

“We’re very strong in the feed business,” said Ashby Coop Elevator General Manager Jerry Hennessey.
