A rural Henning woman was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly threatened her 25-year-old daughter with a shotgun.

Desiree Kae Navin, 51, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies after her daughter called 911 around 11 p.m., law enforcement reported.

As she made her way across a yard to take shelter in an outbuilding at 31230 State Highway 108, the daughter alleged that she had been in the house on the property when she and Navin got into an argument.

The daughter had been cleaning in an upstairs room when the alleged argument started, and she claimed that Navin had taken her wash bucket and thrown its water at her before striking her in the shoulder with the empty bucket. Navin then allegedly pointed a shotgun at her daughter and demanded that she leave the property, threatening to shoot her if she didn’t comply.

Deputies arrived and took Navin into custody for second degree assault.
