Squirts drop two
Published 11:20am Tuesday, December 13, 2011Following a week off, the Minnesota Motor Squirt B’s were back in action on home ice Saturday. Facing an experienced Wadena Squirt team, Fergus Falls was in trouble early as they were unable to shake off the cobwebs. Wadena scored quickly and often to pace themselves to a 9-1 win. Maveric Kalenberg scored the lone goal for the Minnesota Motor team, his first of the season, unassisted. Colton Partain was valiant in net stopping 32 shots. Wadean 9 Minnesota Motor Squirt B 1.
Sunday afternoon the Minnesota Motor team traveled to Morris. Despite being down 1-0 early the visitors found their legs displaying grit and attack on the puck. Gavin Lindberg scored in the first period unassisted, but Morris countered to make it 2-1 after the first period. The Minnesota Motor Squirt B’s were in for another long haul though as Morris contniued to pour on the offense with multiple goals in the second and third periords. Colton Partain stopped shots in net for Minesota Motor. Partain was outstanding in the game stopping numerous gilt-edged scoring chances.
