Home destroyed by fire near Deer Creek

A home was destroyed by fire just across the Otter Tail County line in western Wadena County Wednesday, in the 28,000 block of Highway 75. The fire was out of control when the Deer Creek and Wadena fire departments arrived at the scene.

Nobody was home at the time of the blaze and authorities said the dwelling was a total loss. Firefighters were called at 10:13 p.m. by a passing motorist.

Owner of the home is Wyann Hulst-Perry of rural Wadena.

Cause of the fire is under investigation. Assisting were members of the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department.

Truck tires stolen

A resident in the 100 block of West Adolphus in Fergus Falls reported the theft of four truck tires from a shed within the past month. The value, according to police, is $1,000. Authorities were called at 10:09 a.m. Wednesday.
