A rural Vining home was damaged Monday when a woman drove a pickup truck into it at the tail end of a car chase.

An Otter Tail County deputy was in the area of 485th Street, east of Vining, around 4:30 p.m. when he passed a red pickup truck that caused him to become suspicious. He turned around to follow the truck, but the female driver accelerated to a high speed. The deputy gave chase.

The truck eventually turned into a driveway at 13505 485th Ave., where it hit a house. The occupants of the car then fled, and the deputy was unable to locate them. A small amount of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia was found, and the truck was towed.

Both the suspected driver and the truck’s owner have felony warrants out for their arrests. The extent of damage to the home was not released.

Drugs are the largest problem in society. As long as the courts keep letting these people off with less than a slap on the wrist, the quality of life for the rest of us will keep going down. Look at how they let off the Operation Spring Cleanup druggies. How many children have to destroy their lives with drugs before others stand up and say enough is enough? First time any drugs or paraphenalia are in your posse3ssion should be 5 years prison before any chance of perole. Secind offense 10 years no ifs and or buts about it. Make them work darn hard while locked up to help cover costs others have to pay from the steeling etc.
