ASHBY — A man and his 5-year-old son are OK after their all-terrain vehicle went through ice on a Grant County lake.

The sheriff’s office says the 39-year-old man and his son were on the east side of Pelican Lake Saturday morning when they drove through a pressure ridge and fell through the ice. The man was able to grab his son and get him onto the ice before pulling himself out of the water.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man notified authorities shortly before 7 a.m. and he and the boy were evaluated by emergency responders. Neither was hospitalized.
