Hit-and-run causes power outage
Published 10:54am Thursday, January 5, 2012Approximately 110 Lake Region Electric customers around Dalton lost power for about one and a half hours Wednesday after a hit and run on a power pole about three miles north of town on County Highway 35.
The hit-and-run was reported around 8:20 p.m. What sheriff’s deputies believe to be a 2000 to 2002 silver Toyota Echo hit a support wire on a pole providing power to Dane Prairie and Tordenskjold townships, causing the outage.
Deputies were unable to find the car and are looking for public assistance.
The car is believed to have damage to the front bumper and fender. To report any possible evidence to law enforcement, call 998-8555.
