Long celebrates 80th birthday

To help celebrate Shirley (Leeman) Long’s birthday, Mary Long Geil flew in from Texas to join the birthday girl, along with her sister, Inez Messer, to honor Shirley for five days as the “amazing mother, wife and sister” that she is.

Always active cooking and baking, gardening and canning, caring for their lake home, flower beds and pond, sewing and crafting, writing poems, journaling and keeping in touch with friends and family, composing photo albums and always looking forward to visits from her six children and their spouses, Deborah, Mary and Phil, Lyle, Tim and George, Cindi and Kenneth, and Tom and Amy; her 13 grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren.
