Marjorie Lundgren, died peacefully in her sleep Jan. 1, 2012, at her residence. She was born in Montevideo on March 8, 1952, to Reuben and Marcella Lundgren and grew up on the family farm near Milan with her four siblings.

She graduated from Milan School in 1970, and then attended Moorhead State College where she studied nursing.

Over the years she worked in different medical environments, but especially enjoyed her time in nursing homes where she had a special understanding for patients with memory and behavioral issues. She loved to tell stories and was good at it.

By her own admission she was a “free spirit,” but a sweet one who had a kind heart.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include her son, Kyle Sundberg; a daughter, Amy Sundberg; sisters Gloria (Dennis) Boraas and Beverly (Glenn) Munstermann; and brothers, John (Laura) Lundgren and Mark (Connie) Lundgren.

A private family service is planned at a later date.

Faith and Hope Funeral Home, Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
