The goat has been found [UPDATED]

Curly the Nativity goat was found Wednesday and returned to her owners, Jim and Karen Aakre of Underwood. The goat was on the loose in the Fergus Falls area for 25 days since slipping its leash at Bethlehem Lutheran Church following a live Nativity presentation.faint

The wayward goat wandered onto Tony Loomer’s farm on Dayton Hallow Road sometime Wednesday and was led to a warm barn where it promptly laid down, perhaps relieved it’s wandering days were at an end.

“It was pretty cold out,” Loomer said. “I don’t think she was going to go anywhere.”

The goat’s owners were called and they collected Curly early Wednesday evening.

“They were sure happy to see each other, both the goat and the owners,” Loomer said. “I’m not sure who was happier, the goat or them. Karen was almost crying.”

I’ve been following this story closely and am so happy that the goat was okay. I feared the worst.
