Knights have another cold shooting night in loss to Osakis

 

WCA. 25 24 =54

Osakis 15 – 40 =67

 

The WCA Knights started the game 0-13 from the field and fell behind Osakis 15-0 to start the game in Osakis on Thursday night. The Knights made some nice runs and cut the lead to 25-30 at the half. It looked like the Knights had momentum.

 

To start the second half the Knights went cold again. The cut into the Silverstreaks lead several times but could never take the lead in a 54-67 loss.

 

The Knights were only 5-21 on 2-pt shots and 12-41 on 3-point shots for a total of 17-62 for 27%.

 

Knight Coach Kraig Hunter said, “With our lack of size, we have really struggled getting easy baskets. When we did get it inside we are not converting on our opportunities. We improved our effort from the last game, the kids worked hard, we just struggled scoring.”

 

Matt Wagner led the Knights with 18 points and Dakotah Kashmark added 15. Rebound leaders were Christian Thomasy, Jeff Martinson, and Drew Peterson with 5 each. Peterson led in assists with 7 and Thomasy and Martinson were the steal leaders with 2 each.

 

Joe Roggenbuck led Osakis with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Mitch Herzog had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Matt Swenstad had 10 points and 8 rebounds, Jordan Mack had 10 points, Doug Zimmel 8, and Dean Mickle 4.
