Quick and Easy Apple DumplingsPublished 12:45pm Wednesday, January 25, 2012
This is fun recipe that a friend brought over to me and I have made it several times and brought to other friends for a surprise treat. This is a very simple recipe and I have used 7-up or sierra mist as a substitute. I wouldn’t use dark colored sodas.
You can make a 9 x 13 or a pie plate adjust accordingly.
Spray pan first.
For 9 x 13 peel & cut 2 apples in eighths.
Two tubes of crescent rolls.
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 sticks of butter
1/4 cup cinnamon sugar mixture.
6 oz. of mellow yellow or 7-up
Melt butter , add sugar and stir, set aside
Take each triangle of crescent roll and wrap
around apple piece. set seam side down in pan.
When pan is full, pour over hot butter sugar mixture over rolls.
Pour 6 oz of soda pop around edges.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar over rolls.
Bake 350 40 minutes.
Serve hot or cold plain or with ice cream or cool whip.
