Arnold C. Dietman, 92, of Fergus Falls

Arnold Dietman, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls.

He was born Dec. 29, 1919, in St. Cloud, the son of Albert and Christine (Strack) Dietman. He grew up in Cold Spring.

On Sept. 24, 1944, he married Vivian Lowery at the chapel at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis. While he was in the military, they lived in base housing at Fort Snelling, where Arnold was stationed.

Following his discharge in 1946, they moved to Cold Spring, and later Milbank, S.D., where Arnold worked for the Cold Spring Granite Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1984. They moved to Richmond, for 16 years and then to Fergus Falls in 1992.

He enjoyed painting landscapes, building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, woodworking, golfing and fishing.

He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; a brother, Willard; and sisters, Eileen Theisen and Donna Montrose.

Survivors include three sons, Richard Dietman (Mary Musielewicz) of Rochester, Doug (Debbie) Dietman of Battle Lake and Jim (Jan) Dietman of Milbank, S.D.; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Mike) Davern, Jon (Ann) Dietman, Ange (Chuck) Green, Lin (Jared) Stotts, Jen (Austin) Buskohl, Ali (Allen) Meyer and Jeff Dietman; four great-grandchildren, Luke Dietman, Lauren Dietman, Erin Davern and Sarah Davern; and two sisters, Ann (Tony) Jaeger and Gloria (Dick) Goth.

Visitation: Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. with prayers at 2:30 p.m., at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls
