Harley Jullin Jorgenson, 89, of Erhard

He was born March 9, 1922, the son of Erick and Clara (Ouren) Jorgenson in Erhard. He was baptized at South Immanuel Church and confirmed at Hedemarken Church, rural Carlisle. He attended country school by Carlisle.
In October of 1942, Harley enlisted in the U.S. Navy, stationed at Great Lakes, Ill., and Little Creek in Norfolk, Va.
He was discharged at Little Creek on March 10, 1946.
On Nov. 2, 1947, he married Gwen Olson at Pelican Valley Church in Pelican Rapids, with the Rev. E.O. Stenson officiating. They made their home in Rothsay for 30 years. Harley worked various jobs. They moved into Erhard in 1989.
He was a member of the American Legion and Lions Club, and a member of the Rothsay Fire Department. Harley was a member of Hedemarken Church and later transferred to Hamar Church in Rothsay, where he was currently a member.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons, Michael and Scott; a daughter, Wendy; a sister, Sylvia Hanneman; and a brother, Gaylen Jorgenson.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen of Erhard; a daughter, Bonnie Arnold of New Hope; sons, Dennis Jorgenson of Rothsay and Craig (Kathy) Jorgenson of Pelican Rapids; two grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Walsh of Maple Grove, and Michael Arnold; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Clarke and Kaitlin Walsh of Maple Grove; brothers, Elroy (Dorothy) Jorgenson and Edward (Doris) Jorgenson, all of Rothsay; sisters, Ruby Hanneman of Fergus Falls, and Gloria (Delain) Miller of Fergus Falls; a sister-in-law, Ethelyn Jorgenson of Erhard; three step-grandsons, Shawn (Stacy) Zimney of Detroit Lakes, Ben (Sarah) Biloff of Jamestown, N.D., and Jesse Biloff of Fargo; six step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-step-granddaughter.
Visitation: Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., with a prayer service at 5 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Monday, at New Life Lutheran Church, Rothsay
