Fire damages house in Foxhome [UPDATED]

A residence in the 700 block of Main Street in Foxhome suffered extreme structural damage in a fire that was reported at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, but a family pet perished in the blaze.

Responding to the scene were the Foxhome and Breckenridge fire departments. A passerby, who reported smoke coming from the roof of the residence, contact emergency personnel.

Flames were coming through the roof of the house when firefighters arrived.

The residence received smoke and water damage, in addition to the structural damage. Wilkin County deputies were able to contact the owner of the residence soon after the fire broke out.

Cause of the fire is unknown and no foul play is suspected. An investigation is continuing.
