Students honored for music excellence [UPDATED]

The region 8AA north half instrumental solo and ensemble music competition was held on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Thief River Falls High School. Bemidji, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls and Thief River Falls band students participated in the contest. There were 38 entries from Fergus Falls adjudicated for ratings of performance quality.

Students receiving a rating of excellent were: Freshmen: Hayden Devorak, Josh Fredrickson, Josh Holzworth, Emma Newton, Katelyn Petersen, Hayden Vogel. Soph0mores: Kim Bertram, Ally Godel, Nathan Kaminski-Horak, Christina Lee, Peder Lundberg, Josiah Rostad, Mackenzie Schara, Danielle Schroeder, Seth Stein, Teresa Widiger.

Juniors: Nicole Ellingson, Stephen Godel, Joshua Hames, Bethany Lund, Olivia Scott, Sam Steen, Nathan Stowman, Samantha Velde, Keianna Vogel, Brooke Wallington. Seniors: Robbie Darling, Megan Fritz, Katie Ganoe, Matthew Jacobson, Jesse Johnson, Dominic Jones, Lucy Krivanek, Ben Ronning, Matt Suek, Zach Thom, Samuel Wasberg
