Celebrate at AC4TA [UPDATED]

March is Women’s History Month and A Center for the Arts is celebrating it in a big way. And we have an opportunity for you to help us. On Saturday, March 31, we are bringing back Ann Reed’s “Heroes” show. It’s a theatrical presentation that brings history to life, celebrating women who have made a significant impact on society.

Full of music, stories, pictures, and very educational, we think this is a great way to recognize Women’s History Month.

The best part is women from our very own community are featured in the show as part of the local community choir that performs along with Ann Reed. In fact, we are still looking for women to sing in the choir.

Rehearsals start on Sunday and Linda Mellon is directing.

If you ask someone who participated in this show last year, they will tell how much fun they had.

There are a total of six rehearsals, on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 18 through March 29. We ask that you come to at least four rehearsals if you are interested in performing. The show is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31. If you are interested in being a part of the choir, call the Center at 218-736-5453.

Of course, there are many other things happening here before March 31. On Friday, we have a wonderful folk musician returning to our community to perform here at the Center.

Drew Nelson will be here Friday, at 7:30 p.m. He has been to Fergus Falls before and he just released his debut album with Red House Records earlier this year.

And of course, our annual spring fundraising show, Razzle Dazzle Revue is just a week away from opening night.

Attending this show is a great way to show support for A Center for the Arts and also for your friends, family, and neighbors. There is a cast of more than 60 people in this year’s show and it will feature great songs from some of your favorite films.

Every year we are blown away by the talent we have right here in Fergus Falls. We love to provide opportunities for people to share their talents. We encourage you to come and watch familiar faces perform for a great cause.

Tickets are on sale now for all three performances: Friday, March 23, Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25. You can also purchase tickets online from our website.

If you haven’t heard, we are offering another six-week session of our Preschool Music Class for infants 18 months to 3 years, and their accompanying guardians. Classes are Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and are taught by Judy Hoffbeck.

There is limited space, so register your child as soon as possible. Registration is only $15 and we ask for payment at the time of registration in order to hold your spot. Maybe your preschooler will be a future Razzle Dazzle star.

If you are looking for more information about upcoming events at A Center for the Arts, visit our website at www.fergusarts.org. We hope to see you at the theater soon.
