Byberg gets endorsement over Hoffman for Congress [UPDATED]
Published 9:15am Wednesday, April 4, 2012 Updated 12:17pm Wednesday, April 4, 2012District 10 Senator Gretchen Hoffman suffered a disappointment at the Seventh Congressional District GOP Convention in Alexandria on Saturday, when Lee Byberg was endorsed by the party to challenge long-time DFL incumbent Collin Peterson.
Byberg, who has been preparing for 2012’s election since not long after he lost to Peterson in 2010, got the endorsement-clinching 60 percent of the vote on the first ballot. The exact margin of victory was not released.
The congressional district GOP reported that both Byberg and Hoffman had pledged before the convention to abide by the endorsement.
Neither Hoffman nor her campaign staff could be reached for comment.
Hoffman entered the race on Feb. 24 after redistricting pushed her into the same district as current District 11 Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen. Hoffman told The Journal she supported Ingebrigtsen’s run and that she believed she was the best candidate to beat Peterson.

Maybe now Ms. Hoffman will go home, bake some cookies and stand by her man.
She’s not Cora Knutson Ackerbird.
If Hillary had the option to reject what you propose for Senator Hoffman, why did she reject those things and go on to being a Senator from a state where she didn’t live, and Secretary of State to an anti-American Marxist, charged with destroying America’s reputation and position in the world?
I don’t know Gretchen’s plans, but I know she has the courage to enter any race where she believes she should contend.
If you ever wonder why others fail to take you seriously it is in part because of language like this…”and Secretary of State to an anti-American Marxist, charged with destroying America’s reputation and position in the world?”. If I started calling you mullethead would that lend currency to my arguments? You must think it does.
