County delays lake outlet EIS decision [UPDATED]

Otter Tail County Commissioners on Tuesday delayed a decision on ordering an Environmental Impact Statement for a proposed outlet for Little McDonald, Kerbs and Paul lakes for one week.

Following a three-plus-hour discussion, commissioners tabled the decision until the April 24 meeting.

The proposal would use Ditch 25 as an outlet to lower lake levels on the three lakes. The proposed outlet route west of Perham, making use of Ditch 25, extends in a southwesterly direction. Water would discharge from Little McDonald Lake to Berger Lake.
