Fergus’ Derek Hansen gets national love

Derek Hansen’s record-tying performance on the mound against Minnesota, Crookston on April 6 is garnering national attention. The right-handed hurler, who fanned 17 batters against the Golden Eagles, was recently named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association National Pitcher of the Week and placed on the NCBHOF’s weekly National All-Star Lineup.

Hansen, a junior from Fergus Falls tied an Augustana school record for strikeouts in a 2-0, eight inning win over UMC.
