Minnesota Hockey offers the USA Hockey Select/Advanced 16 and 17 programs to the top players from the state. The Reebok High Performance Boys 16 and 17 program is outlined as follows:

Section Tryouts

Each of the eight Minnesota High School Hockey Sections (A and AA) conducts tryouts in their Section with a minimum of 40 players trying out per Section. Fergus Falls High School players participating for girls were Lauren Norgren (16) and Megan Niblock (17).

Boys in the 16’s group were Colton Buseth and Adam Evenson.

Otter boys in the 17’s group were Jake Ahlgren and Joe Nathe.

Spring Festival

Norgren, Niblock, Ahlgren and Nathe were selected for their section teams. This last weekend teams play three games at the festival within their age class.

Each player is evaluated by an experienced team of judges and coaches.

The Spring Festival showcases the top 320 16- and 17-year-olds players in the state. Fergus Falls players selected were Niblock for girls 17’s and Nathe for boys 17’s.

A team of knowledgeable coaches and scouts will evaluate all participants, consult with team coaches and select the top players from both the High Performance 16’s and 17’s. Selected players will represent Minnesota Hockey at the USA Hockey National Select 16 and Select 17 Festivals in the summer.
