The Ashby Arrows softball team hosted the Wheaton Warriors on Monday afternoon and lost by score of 10-3. The Warriors scored seven of their ten runs in fifth inning, putting the Arrows away.

“On a positive note, the girls played solid defense every inning except for one inning that got away from us,” said AHS coach Kandace Norby. “The Warriors pitcher Sarah Lachowitzer pitched a solid game and they hit the ball well.

“I’m very proud of this young team for not giving up and continuing to give 110 percent every game they play.”

The Arrows collected only six hits on the day.  Collecting the hits were Amber Sundal who went 3-for-4 and Emily Elliott who went 2-for-3, with one double and Madison VanSanten who had an RBI.

Sundal picked up the pitching loss, throwing five innings, surrendering 11 hits and striking out two.
