Underwood School increases learning opportunities [UPDATED]
Published 9:32am Wednesday, May 2, 2012 Updated 11:33am Wednesday, May 2, 2012From the playground to the classroom and everything in between, there are several parts that work together to make a school run successfully.
Thanks to a local farmer and America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM the Underwood Public School District will be able to improve student achievement.
Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. John and Donna Wold were the winning farmers in Otter Trail County. They directed the donation to the Underwood Public School District.
“We have seen the positive impact the school has made on several young people in our community and wanted to show our appreciation for their efforts,” said Donna Wold.
The school district will use the $2,500 to purchase supplies that will complement the current curriculum with the goal of increasing student achievement.
In a ceremony held on April 16 in the Underwood Public School District conference room, the Wolds got the chance to present the $2,500 donation.
