The Underwood School board accepted a bid to construct two new classrooms to accommodate a growing student body and class offerings.

The board approved the $323,175 bid from Gopher State Construction at April’s meeting. The funding for the project will not affect taxpayers as the money will come out of the current fund balance.

The move was done in part because the school worked to efficiently utilize all its facilities, but felt they needed to add the classrooms to meet the goals and aims of the school.

The project will begin in June with an estimated completion date of Nov. 1.
