The Hillcrest Comet baseball team rode the arm of Mark Undseth Friday evening as the pitcher hurled a one-hit gem to defeat the Ashby Arrows 4-1.

The Comets jumped on the board in the bottom half of the first as Skler Ruf cracked a RBI single to plate Zach Nersten. In the third, a walk and a Vinnie Veum two-run single put Hillcrest ahead by four.

The Arrows were able to score a run in the sixth, but could not find their sticks in the game.

Undseth finished the day with seven Ks and six walks as he picked up the win. Drew Hanson was shouldered with the loss for Ashby, before being relieved by Allard Larue.

Nersten led the Comets with two hits and two runs scored, while teammate Veum had 2 RBIs in the win.

The Comets will look to keep the momentum in their favor as they travel to Ortonville Monday for a 5 p.m. game. The Arrows will attempt to shake off the loss as they host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross Monday at 5 p.m.
