Area softball teams find out seeds

The 2012 Minnesota high school sectional softball playoffs start this week, with area teams finding high seeds.

The Fergus Falls Otters will play at home on Tuesday as they received the number one seed in Section 8AA in the southern division, while Perham (6) and Pelican Rapids (7) will be on the road.

The Hillcrest softball team received the second seed in Section 6A south and will host seventh seeded Ashby Arrows Tuesday.

Brandon-Evansville will also have a home game, picking up the fourth seed, while West Central will play Verndale in a play-in game Tuesday.

The Otter Tail Central Bulldogs received the third seed in Section 6AA and won their opening round playoff game against Wadena-Deer Creek 13-2 Friday. They will play Minnewaska Area in Melrose Tuesday at 7 p.m.
