Arrows upset Comets 12-4

The third time was a charm for the seventh seeded Ashby Arrows as they upset No. 2 seeded Hillcrest Lutheran Academy 12-4 in the opening round of the Section 6A playoffs.skilled

“ The girls have been playing solid ball all season,” Ashby Coach Kandace Norby said. “They play smart and they play to win and today was no different.”

Jeanette Evavold led the Ashby hitters going 1 for 3 with three RBI, while teammate Jaden Witt went 3 for 3 with two doubles.

Paige Nelson picked up the win recording three strikeouts in seven innings of work. Alyssa Wolderich was handed the loss for the Comets going all seven innings.

The Arrows will now travel to take on Parkers Prairie on Thursday at 4 p.m. in Brandon. The Comets end their season with a 10-3 record and wn their first ever Pheasant Conference title.
