Chargers outlast Arrows in 9 innings

ASHBY — The Brandon-Evansville softball team came home with an extra inning victory over the Arrows Tuesday afternoon 7-6.

“In the later innings we had opportunities to score but were unable to get that clutch hit to break the game open,” Arrows’ Coach Kandace Norby said. “This was a tough one to slip away but we will be ready for our next game.”

Madison VanSanten and Abbi Ras each collected three hits for the Arrows, while teamate Bailey Funkhouser launched a solo homerun in the game.

The Chargers will look to continue their strong run as they travel to Bertha-Hewitt Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. game, while the Arrows look to get back on the right path as they host Hilllcrest Lutheran Academy Thursday at 5 p.m.
