Improvements on tap for Phelps Mill Park

Published 1:07pm Friday, June 1, 2012

Phelps Mill Park will undergo a facelift this summer to make the park more visitor friendly.

The goal is to have the restrooms replaced and a new walking bridge up by fall. Unlike the current restrooms, the replacements will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The improvements will benefit park visitors, especially those who attend the annual Phelps Mill Festival in mid-July.

Work on the Phelps Mill walking bridge, a $500,000 project, is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
