FERGUS FALLS — The New York Mills Eagles will head to the state tournament after beating Frazee 7-5 Thursday in the Section 6A tournament.

The Eagles jumped out to an early 4-1 lead after two innings and were able to build a comfortable lead.

The Hornets mounted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh, but could not muster up more than three runs to end the game.

This was the fourth meeting between the two teams this season with New York Mills sweeping the contests.

The Eagles will now travel to Chaska for the Class A state tournament, where they will play the winner of Section 4A at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
