Ron and Opal Erickson concert in Dalton [UPDATED]
Published 8:36am Thursday, June 14, 2012 Updated 1:37pm Thursday, June 14, 2012Ron and Opal Erickson, Country Gospel singers, will be in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Zion-Sarpsborg Lutheran Church in Dalton.
In a time when there is such a variety of entertainment available, some stand out as just a little different than the others. Ron and Opal do not just sing together, they perform as a dynamic duo. This couple will entertain you and share in ministry through their music of classic country and southern gospel singing with Ron playing a variety of instruments.
Ron is an accomplished steel guitarist who has appeared on several country music shows throughout the mid-west.
He was a regular member of the K.C. Opry in Kansas City, Mo., for 12 years as a featured singer and steel guitarist for the house band.
He was also a band member on the Country Hayride Opry in Excelsior Springs, Mo., and made regular appearances on Cousin Pud’s Country Jamboree for several years.
Opal grew up in south Georgia singing classic country and southern style gospel music in church. She has been a featured singer on all of the shows Ron has worked and you’ll find that she has one of the most outstanding female voices ever heard in country and gospel music. Opal received the 2009 Central Division CGMA Female Vocalist of the Year award.
An offering will be collected for admission.
