David Stoddard of Fergus Falls will be the guest musician at tonight’s summer concert series performance, at 8 p.m. at the Lakes Area Community Center in Battle Lake.
Stoddard is an ambassador from “A Center for the Arts” in Fergus Falls and is a familiar name in a variety of entertainment fields.
He has been the music behind many of the productions at A Center for the Arts in Fergus Falls, as well as performing solo.
He was born and raised in Wisconsin and has also lived in Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota. He travels all over the US singing his songs and has been called “The George Carlin of Folk Music.” He’s known as a performer and clinician, and has won a number of very prestigious writing contests.
In addition, he has won the Kerrville New Folk award, as well as songwriting awards at the South Florida Folk Festival, the Minnesota Folk Festival, and others.
LACC offers these free summer concerts, but an offering is welcome. Lemonade and goodies follow the program to give you time to visit and enjoy a bit of the evening’s “afterglow.”
On June 21, The Northern Lights Gospel Quartet will perform at 8 p.m. at the community center in Battle Lake, as part of its “Come To The Lakes” concert series.
The First Lutheran Church Women’s Group will serve dinner the last Thursday of every month, June 28, July 26 and Aug. 30, at 6:30 p.m., before the concert. Cost of the dinner is $7.
