BATTLE LAKE — The Otter Tail Central Legion baseball team picked up a split with Pelican Rapids Thursday.

OTC started out on a good note winning the first game 10-1.

Jake Trosdahl got the win pitching six innings and recording five strikeouts, while Pelican’s Luke Halbakken took the loss going three innings and allowing seven earned.

“Jake has had some great outings already this year,” OTC Coach Ryan Hendrickson said. “He is fun to watch pitch and has good mix of pitches and looks. He’s tough.”

Weston Malmstrom led the OTC hitters with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

The Post 17 team was able to get the best of OTC in the second game winning 6-4.

OTC jumped out to an early three run lead, but quickly saw it evaporate as Pelican scored five runs in the next three innings.

OTC’s Mary Charest took the loss, but was able to sit down six hitters, while teammate Malmstrom struck out five in relief.

Charest also contributed with his bat recording a double, two runs scored and an RBI.

OTC will host Moorhead in a 5:30 p.m. game Monday.
