Pelican Rapids High School basketball standout Maria Johnson recently signed a national letter of intent to continue her education and play basketball for the Spartans of Minnesota State Community and Technical College in the fall.

Johnson graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 2012.

“We look forward to adding Maria to our team,” said Coach Brenda Johnson. “She comes from a good high school program, and we are excited to see how she will excel at the college level. Maria knows the game and has the ability to shoot outside or take it to the hole. She will be a great asset to our program and our college.”
