COLA joins statewide lobbying group [UPDATED]
Published 8:52am Tuesday, June 26, 2012 Updated 11:55am Tuesday, June 26, 2012The Otter Tail County Coalition of Lake Associations unanimously agreed to become a member of Minnesota Seasonal Recreational Property Owners at its regularly scheduled meeting on Saturday with fighting aquatic invasive species as its primary goal.
“It gives us a legislative lobbying potential,” said OTC COLA president Jeff Stabnow.
MSRPO has a full-time lobbyist, and their lobbying efforts are strictly for lake-related issues such as aquatic invasive species and shoreland rules and revisions, Stabnow said.
MSRPO Executive Director Jeff Forester spoke at the meeting and said, the fight against invasive species on Minnesota lakes has to be united. It doesn’t work to have every lake for itself.
