OT Lakes Association elects directors [UPDATED]

The Otter Tail Lakes Association held its annual meeting on Saturday, June 23. The association includes Otter Tail, Deer, Blanche, Round, Walker and Long lakes; Pelican Bay; and portions of Otter Tail River.

Five new directors were elected to the board at the meeting.

• Mark Wing – Walker Lake

• Jan Johnson – Long Lake

• Ann Hawkinson – Director at Large

• Dan Carlisle – Otter Tail Lake Zone Three

• Stan Fetters – Deer Lake

Aquatic invasive species was a major topic of discussion at the meeting. Educational handouts detailing the dangers of spreading aquatic invasive species were provided.

Pelican Lake resident Erika Johnson spoke about her personal experience living in a lake infested with zebra muscles. She talked about the progression from the time the muscles appeared in the lake to its current state of infestation.
