Viking 5K Challenge scheduled in Fergus Falls

The first Viking Challenge — a 5K extreme wilderness mud run — will be held on September 15 north of Fergus Falls.

The event is $75 per participant which include a t-shirt, running bib and a runner’s bag with several souvenirs.

The race is broken down into three divisions including a men’s only, women’s only and a family and co-ed divisions.

Music and live bands will play throughout the two day event. A concert, bonfire, food vendors, beverages and post-race party will begin after the final wave of runners return to the finish line.

Proceeds from the event will go to Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Lake Region Healthcare Cancer Center and Dough 4 Joe.
