FF Flyers compete at State Championships

BLOOMINGTON — The Fergus Falls Flyers saw four members compete at the State C Long Course Championships held at the Bloomington Family Aquatic Center over the weekend.

Aaron Erlandson was able to qualify for the 11-12 year old boys class B state meet with a second place finish in the 100 meter breaststoke with a time of 1:47.75.

Mike Mortenson took two seconds in the 100 meter breaststroke (1:32.08) and 200 meter freestyle (2:38.47) in the 15-16 boys class. Mortenseon missed the Class B cut in both events, but did qualify in the 200 meter individual medley with a time of 2:54.12 for a third place finish.

In the girls 13-14 year old division, Alise Werner’s time of 37.39 in the 50 meter freestyle was the a personal best, while Justin Mortenson finished in fifth in the boys’ 13-14 division 200 meter freestyle (2:46.64).

Erlandson and Mortenson will both compete at the Richfield Community Aquatic Center for the State B meet July 21-22.
