August meetings to discuss ditches [UPDATED]

Published 7:44am Wednesday, July 18, 2012 Updated 11:47am Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Two public information meetings have been scheduled to discuss the future of Otter Tail County ditches 63, north of Elizabeth and 70, southwest of Dalton.

These ditches have been in place for a long time, and there is some repair work that could be done, public works division manager Rick West said.

The ditches are owned by the parties who benefit from the provided drainage, so the cost of any work done would fall on those people. The public meetings have been scheduled to gather input from all who would like to discuss the future of these ditches.

The ditch 70 meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13. The ditch 63 meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. Both meetings will be held at the Government Services Center, Commissioners’ Room.
