Frontier moving to U Motors building

Published 11:16am Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Frontier Powersports is starting fresh. The business has new management and soon a new location: the former U Motors building on Frontier Drive.

“We don’t have a (moving) date set,” said General Manager Lee Bakken, who noted an August move-in is likely.

In preparation for the move, Frontier is currently having a sale on a number of items, including clothing, accessories, and “everything we’d rather sell than move,” Bakken said.

The move to the U Motors building makes sense, he explained, because U Motors is a more visible location (off Interstate Highway 94) with a better display space than Frontier’s current location, while still being designed for a similar kind of business.

“The showroom is much larger; the shop is much more efficient,” he said, adding that he likes the interior layout a lot.

When the move is made, Frontier will do it quickly. Bakken said he is not sure if there will be any business closure during the move; if so, he said, it would be brief. For now, however, the sale and moving preparations continue.

“We’re doing some final touches on the building,” Bakken said.
