Elbow Lake could have a new hospital as soon as January 2014, the Grant County Herald reported.

The 17 acres of ground for the new hospital on the east side of town could be broken for construction by October 1 if all goes as planned.

The hospital board plans to raise about $2 million locally for the 14-month construction project.
