Man hospitalized after stabbing

A 21-year-old Battle Lake man was seriously hurt early this morning after he was stabbed six times in a wooded area northwest of Henning.

The assault was reported around 1:30 a.m. today. The man was taken by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.

Though the county sheriff’s office listed his injuries as serious, law enforcement does not believe the injuries are life threatening at this time.

A suspect in the stabbing has been identified, but no arrests have been made. The circumstances surrounding the stabbing are not yet clear, and the sheriff’s office is investigating the incident.
