Onward to a state victory [UPDATED]

From struggles early in the season to winning its fourth straight District 9 title, the Fergus Falls American Legion Post 30 baseball has proved it has what it takes to win it all at the state tourney beginning Friday. We wish them the best.

Members of Post 30 overcame some catching difficulties early on and meshed as any winning team should to win. They grew as teammates — supporting each other through those early challenges on the field — and should have a good chance to take the state title.

Winning the District 9 title was no easy feat and certainly the state tournament will test their skills as well. But if they continue to support each other and play strong defensively and offensively, they will come home with the state trophy.

As the coach told The Journal, “We have to let the game come to us and worry about what we can control and stay in the moment. I’m extremely proud of these boys and where we are at right now and am excited to see what this weekend brings.”

All the team’s fans will be cheering the young men on to victory and we, too, are excited to see what the weekend brings for this great team.
